Safety Pin Angel by SweetDuke Safety Pin Angel by SweetDuke
This is one of the safety pin angels that my mom and I made last night. C:

We originally bought one of these about 10 years ago, and my mom started making her own modified version of it soon after. It's been a few years since my mom has made these angels, so they were a pain to figure out how to make again. XD And we can't find the same types of beads and angel accessories since it's been so long. :/ But it was still fun, it took us ALL DAY yesterday to make 4 of these angels. XDDD

This is awesome! Is this just something that your mum came up with? You should post instructions online! (Or rather, please post instructions online, lol)

Thank you! ^ ^ No we bought an angel similar to this at a neat shop, but we made our own by just looking at it and modifying ours to look better. XD Ehhh I'm probably not going to post instructions unfortunately...my mom and I just kind of looked at the angel we had and made ours through experimentation and crafty thinking? XD I'll try and explain it a little...

First we made the skirt of the dress by putting those clear, star-like beads (and a few normal ones) on gold safety pins. Then we strung the 12 safety pins together with wire at the top. Then we took another wire along the bottom and put those little gold beads on the wire (we had to do it section by section though). The torso is just a medium-sized clear bead that we used a hot glue gun to attach to the safety pin skirt. Then we made the arms by putting clear beads on a wire through the middle of the torso bead. Next we hot-glued the head to the body. The halo and wings were bought at Michael's or Jo-Ann's a few years ago, but they don't carry them anymore. They can be bought here: [link] . The flower she's holding is a bead we bought at Michael's. The candle is actually just a white bead and the flame is a drop of hot glue that I shaped and painted. There were some more structural things that I can't remember now, we just did a lot of wiring throughout the whole angel, trying to make it look discreet, and glued several things that didn't stay.

Sorry that was so much info. D: My mom and I kind of make each one differently and it's a bit frustrating and very hard to find the beads now, unfortunately. It took us 10 hours to make 4 of them lolol. But you can do it if you just use some beads, wire, hot glue gun, and creativity. D:
